Wake up inside your dreams.
DreamKnock watches the night from your wrist, senses when you're dreaming with the DreamSense™ engine, and whispers a gentle haptic rhythm into the dream — your cue to become lucid.
Three quiet steps to lucidity
No headband, no mask, no phone under the pillow. The watch you already sleep with does everything.
Start, then drift off
Tap Start Sleep, set your intention, and sleep. DreamKnock keeps a quiet watch all night with live heart-rate and wrist-motion sensing.
DreamSense™ finds your REM
A multi-signal engine fuses heart-rate dynamics, micro-motion atonia sensing and sleep-architecture modeling to pinpoint your dreaming windows in real time.
A cue enters the dream
A distinctive rhythm — soft enough not to wake you — slips into the dream. Trained by day, it means exactly one thing: this is a dream.
A rhythm your dreams will recognize
tap · tap · tap —— tap · tap. Practice it during the day while doing reality checks, and your sleeping brain learns the reflex. Three rhythms to choose from — pick the one that reaches you.
“Dreams are the royal road to the unconscious.”
— Sigmund Freud, The Interpretation of Dreams
The DreamSense™ engine
Purpose-built REM detection on your wrist: three streams of physiology, fused in real time.
Heart-rate dynamics
A live cardiac stream analyzed against your personal overnight baseline — percentile modeling that adapts to you, every single night.
Micro-motion atonia sensing
During REM your body switches off. Sub-milli-g accelerometer analysis with self-calibrating thresholds reads that stillness on any wrist, with any band.
Sleep-architecture modeling
A circadian model of your sleep cycles weights every decision toward the REM-rich hours — so cues land when dreams are longest and most vivid.
Why DreamKnock
Everything a dedicated lucid-dreaming device does — on the watch you already own.
No extra hardware
Dream masks cost $100–400 and sit on your face all night. DreamKnock lives on your Apple Watch.
Protects sleep first
Adaptive backoff doubles the wait after any awakening and stops for the night after three — no other app guards your sleep like this.
The complete method
Cues, WBTB, MILD intention, daytime training, reality checks, journal, trends — the full technique stack in one app.
| What matters | DreamKnock | Dream masks | Phone apps |

Everything the night needs
Designed to maximize lucid dreams while fiercely protecting the sleep they depend on.
Adaptive backoff
Woken by a cue? The next waits twice as long; three awakenings end cueing for the night.
Wake Back to Bed
An optional gentle timed wake 4–6.5 h in — the classic high-success technique, built in.
Daytime training
Replay the exact rhythm with reality checks until it becomes a reflex.
Morning report
REM spans, cue moments, heart-rate curve and sleep latency on one timeline.
Dream journal & signs
Dictate dreams before they fade; tag your recurring dream signs.
Trends
Lucid rate, REM per night and your personal dream-sign leaderboard.
Your dreams stay on your wrist
- No account, no sign-up, no cloud.
- Heart-rate data is read via HealthKit and processed on the watch — it never leaves the device.
- Your journal is stored locally on your Apple Watch.
- No analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs.
By design.
Questions, answered
Will the vibration wake me up?
It's designed not to: cues default to gentle, fire only after sustained REM evidence, and respect a cooldown. If one does wake you, adaptive backoff doubles the wait — and after three awakenings DreamKnock stops cueing for the night entirely.
How does it detect REM?
The DreamSense™ engine fuses three physiological signals in real time — cardiac dynamics, micro-motion atonia and your personal sleep architecture — and self-calibrates to your body every single night. Wear the band snug for best results.
How long until my first lucid dream?
Lucidity is a trained skill. With nightly cues, daytime rhythm training and reality checks, many people see results in one to two weeks. The journal and trends keep you honest about what's working.
How much battery does a night use?
Continuous heart-rate monitoring uses roughly 15–20% per night. Charge before bed; if the battery ever runs critically low, DreamKnock ends the session gracefully and saves your night's report.
Which devices are supported?
Any Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later. DreamKnock is a fully standalone watch app — your iPhone can stay on the nightstand, or in another room.
Is it a medical device?
No. DreamKnock is a wellness and curiosity tool. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or monitor any medical condition, and its sleep inferences are estimates.
